Easter Egg Treasure Hunt

Colour-coded Easter Egg Hunt
Instead of a free for all egg hunt, assign each hunter a colour and set them on a mission to find eggs of that designated colour. This game is great to even the playing field when you have a mix of older and younger kids.
Easter Egg Race
No one is ever too old for a bit of friendly competition at Easter. Make the egg hunt a race by setting a time limit. Whoever finds the most eggs in the allocated time wins. Or make it a relay race, and hunt in pairs. While one team member is hunting for eggs, the other has to carry a raw egg on a spoon back and forth across the lawn until their teammate returns. If the egg cracks, they have to return all the found Easter eggs and start over!
Follow the String
Rather than hiding eggs all over the house and in the garden and hoping that they all get found on the day, you can try hiding all the eggs in one hiding place and making a trail that leads to the stash. Use string, twine or wool to weave a trail around furniture, trees, pot plants, the BBQ, or whatever you can find. The egg hunters follow the maze of string until they find their stash. Got more than one person to hide eggs for? Use different colour strings, and make the trails overlap and weave in and out of each other.
Easter Bingo
Find Easter themed bingo cards online, or you can play with a regular board. Use something seasonal for markers like M&M’s or Smarties and give out traditional Easter basket prizes.
Minute to Win It Marathon
This is a great way to burn some energy while you earn your Easter treats. Set up a series of minute-to-win-it games and allocate points to the winner of each game. For the uninitiated, minute-to-win-it games are easy, fast-paced games that take just 60 seconds to play. Try things like how many mini chocolate eggs can you toss into a jar in 60 seconds, who can walk the farthest with a chocolate egg balanced on their head, or how far can you push a hot cross bun across the table using only your nose. Pinatas are a crowd-pleaser for all ages. If you’re feeling crafty, you can make your own Easter themed Pinata in the shape of an egg, chick or bunny (or you find one online). Fill it with Easter treats and get smashing!
Skip the Sugar Fueled Easter Egg Hunt
If you don’t want your kids having a ton of sugar over the Easter holiday, swap out chocolate eggs for plastic eggs with slips of paper with rewards inside them. The rewards can be things like staying up late, choosing dessert or having a lunch date with Mum. Hide the plastic eggs just like you would chocolate eggs for the kids to find.
